Fair trade Conference for Schools
Valli Opticians are big fans of fair trade and are delighted to be a ‘Conference Champions’ sponsor of the FairAndFunky Fair trade Conference for Schools. This event brings together Primary Schools from across Kirklees to celebrate and learn about Fair trade through creative arts and education workshops for students and teachers.
This is the first conference of its kind in Kirklees to combine arts and Fair trade.
Each student will take part in a variety of art based workshops learning about Fair trade and ethical produce.
The conference will also deliver Continuing Professional Development for the teachers in a fair trade workshop with presentations from “fairandfunky”, The Fair Trade Foundation, and all the ‘Conference Champions’. The aim of these workshops is to develop an understanding of Fair trade and how it can be taught within a busy classroom timetable.
