A Feast for the Eyes in Hebden Bridge

Valli Opticians has introduced a unique twist to its practice in Hebden Bridge with the addition of an art gallery featuring local talent.

Vision On Gallery showcases the work of local artists whose works are displayed alongside the latest optical frames.

It is the brainchild of Valli Opticians’ Rachel Valli, who said: “When we redesigned our Hebden Bridge practice after it was damaged in the 2015 Boxing Day floods we realised we had a lot of free wall space. That’s when inspiration struck! Hebden Bridge is such a creative town and the Valli Group has always been passionate about being part of the communities that we serve, so we had the idea of allowing local artists to exhibit their work here.

“I’m guessing we’re the only opticians in the country that doubles up as an art gallery but there’s a nice synergy to it; while our clients are looking after their eye health they’re also treating their eyes to some beautiful art.”

The latest exhibition, ‘Serendipitous Art’, opened on Thursday 8th March and features work by local artists Claire Lupino and Melinda Joy Chandler, Catherine Davis Design, ARTbound and Stella Hill.
