A Jolly Jumper Day

The staff  at all the Valli Opticians Group practices pulled on their craziest Christmas woollies for Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day. From Wakefield to Hebden Bridge staff dressed up to raise awareness and money for this worthy cause.

Donating just £2 or more, their aim was to raise money to help save children’s lives around the world, from Syria to Liberia, Brazil to Bangladesh.

Moin Valli, CEO and founder of the group said, “Even a small donation can go a long way.  Just £2 could pay for potentially life-saving antibiotics to treat babies with infections.  And the great thing is anyone can take part, whether you’re an individual or in a group, at school or in an office.”

Tanya Steele, Executive Director, Fundraising at Save the Children said “This year will be our biggest Christmas Jumper Day yet. We had over a million people take part last year and we want to see even more jumpers being worn this year”. Christmas Jumper Day was fun, and easy to organise and the staff enjoyed every moment of it. As yet we don’t know how much money was raised as it is still early days
