All eyes on a marathon finish
All the team will be watching when Dispensing Optician and E-Commerce Manager Sheryl Doe from Valli Opticians Group takes part in this years Great North Run. Sheryl is travelling up to Newcastle to raise money for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.
The Hospice cares for families who have a child with a life shortening condition, supporting them and their families in many different ways to make their lives just a little bit easier. The Huddersfield based charity provides palliative care and end of life care for children and young people and their families. Focusing on enhancing quality of life, for all those affected by life shortening conditions which includes physical comfort and wellbeing, as well as the emotional, social and spiritual aspect of care.
Sheryl, who is based at Valli Opticians, 29 Huddersfield Road, Meltham, will be running the 13.1 mile course on Sunday 13 September. Sheryl said ” I have trained very hard in the run up to the race and I hope that the hard work will pay off and that I am able to donate as much as possible to the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the incredible support from my partner Steve, friends, family and our fabulous customers. I would like to extend a huge thanks to everyone for keeping me going.”
