Another practice, this time in Hull
Valli Opticians, which began in Huddersfield in 2005, has purchased another store – Henry J Rose Optomerist in Hull.
Moin Valli, managing director of the Valli Group, said: “We are delighted to announce the acquisition of Henry J Rose Optometrist. This is our first venture out of West Yorkshire and this practice in East Yorkshire is situated at the heart of a busy,
bustling community close to Hull Royal Infirmary. The practice is a perfect addition to our independent, family run, Valli Group. As a company it is our number one priority to provide our patients with the very best in the latest eye care technology and
techniques whilst still retaining traditional values of excellent customer service”.
Henry J Rose established the practice in 1960 and his son David, an Optometrist, took over in 1965 following the death of his father. Along with his wife Sue, a qualified Dispensing Optician, they built it into a very successful practice. David’s son Steven joined them in 2007, later qualifying as a Dispensing Optician, and now is back at university to obtain a degree in Optometry.
David Rose who is still at the Hull store on a part time basis said; “I am delighted that Moin Valli and his team are bringing their talents and expertise to the practice. Sue and I give our best wishes for the future”.
Set up by Moin Valli and his wife Rachel in 2005 and coming up to its 10-year anniversary, the award winning Valli Opticians Group started life in Lockwood Huddersfield and has grown remarkably to include ten businesses – eight of which
are optical stores. They own the Valli Opticians in Lockwood, Honley, Meltham and Mytholmroyd, alongside SD Haigh Opticians in Almondbury, Mamtora Opticians in
Hebden Bridge and Barbara Watson Eyecare in Wakefield. They expanded further in 2013 to include two other optical businesses – Valli Home Eye Care, a domiciliary service for elderly and disabled patients, and Valli Co-Optic, which specialises in providing bespoke eye care services on site for medium to large companies.
The company has a strong community focus and staff regularly deliver talks to schools and groups about the importance of eye health.
