“We really care about your health,” says proprietor Moin Valli, who runs the Valli Group with his wife Rachel. “That’s why we invest in the latest technology and give longer appointments than many others.”

There are now six opticians’ in the Valli Group across West Yorkshire including Hampshire Opticians in Lockwood, Meltham and Honley, SD Haigh Opticians in Almondbury, Valli Opticians in Mytholmroyd and another independent Opticians in North Kirklees.

“We’ve doubled our workforce since we started the company in 2005,” Moin says. “And we’ve invested in training to make sure our customers continue to enjoy the high standards of service and personal touches that allowed us to grow in the first place.”

The examinations are more than just eye tests, they’re health checks that can identify the early onset of problems before they develop.   These include diabetes, blood pressure and high cholesterol.

As an independent optician they have thousands of frames to choose from, and their friendly helpful staff will talk you through your options and offer impartial advice.

With regards to contact lenses, they understand that some people are unsure about lenses so have designed a contact lens fitting service to put even the most squeamish person at ease.

All the Valli Group practices offer on-site or near-by free parking. And there’s even a domiciliary service for people who can’t get out of their homes to go to the opticians and a special eye care plan to help people manage their budgets.
