Robin gets on his bike

On 27th June, 2014, Robin Bennett, a practice manager for Valli Group Opticians abandoned his post in order to cycle 87 miles through the hills and dales of West Yorkshire, encompassing all the Valli group practices.

Robin set off from his Outwood practice and took in the branches at Almondbury, Lockwood, Meltham, Honley, Hebden Bridge and, Mytholmroyd, even taking in parts of the Tour de France route. Robin tackled this hilly terrain to raise funds to support Wakefield district sight aid.

Robin raised £208 and presented a cheque to David Marsh Chief Executive of Wakefield based charity which provides general information, help, advice and support on matters related to sight loss. This is available to the individual and their family/carers on the phone and via planned visits.
