Valli Opticians training workshop
Last Thursday evening, members of the Valli team attended a first in a series of Valli Groups Continuing Education and Training (CET) events, in Brighouse, which featured a lecture on subjects including Glaucoma, Cataracts and Keratoconus. Chris Jones FBDO, who is the Valli Group Clinical Development Manager has organised 12 of these events that will take place throughout the year and will ensure that the professional team at Valli are all kept up to date with the latest developments and are trained and kept informed in the newest technology and techniques.
Eye surgeon Dr Fayyaz Musa FRCOphth, MBChB Consultant Ophthalmologist with the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust, delivered the lectures to our team. Providing all present with a wealth of information on all aspects of the topics covered from corneal surgery (DMEK) to the latest treatments for Keratoconus including the very effective Crosslinking procedure.
At Valli Opticians we believe that training is crucial for employee engagement because it keeps our team passionate about their role and ensures they deliver clinical excellence to our patients.
Chris Jones said: “The event was well attended and the feeback was very positive. Dr Fayyaz Musa clearly loves his job, which came across in his talk. It’s great when a team of professionals give up their spare time to develop their knowledge in any area of eye care.”
The next lecture will be on the 19th May 2016 and will take place in Stockport. The topics covered will be Visual Stress, Dyslexia and management of patients with reading difficulties.
