Valli Staff Awards 2017

Saturday 4th November was the annual staff awards event.  This year it was held at the Cedar Court Hotel and as in previous years the awards were hosted by the brilliant Alex Bray.

We have held the Valli Staff Awards for the last 4 years as it gives us an opportunity to reward our employees and recognise the outstanding work they do throughout the year.

This year the winners were announced across six awards sponsored by our main suppliers, Dunelm Optical Co Ltd, Hoya Lens UK and Coopervision Contact Lenses.

Dispenser of the Year – this is awarded to an outstanding dispenser who is consistently able to meet and exceed client expectations.  Someone who is continually improving their product knowledge to ensure our clients are offered the best advice and guidance in choosing the right spectacles for their needs.

This years winner is Aziz Mohammed from Barradells Opticians in Cheadle Hulme

also nominated were: Adrian Aaron from Aarons Opticians Stockport, Jessica Green from Valli Opticians Almondbury and Rachael Rose from Valli Opticians Meltham & Honley

Customer Service of the Year – awarded to the practice team who have excelled in the level of customer service throughout the year.  By way of positive attitudes and consistently monitoring and evaluating their performance to ensure results.

This years winner is Valli Opticians Hull consisting of  Kayleigh Buttle, Carol Plumb, Karen Stratton and optometrist Victoria Allen

also nominated were: Maghull Eye Centre, Valli Opticians Lockwood and Barradells Opticians Cheadle Hulme.

Best Newcomer – this award is given to a team member who has recently joined the Valli Group and has very quickly made their mark by becoming an integral part of the team.

This years winner is Laura Whiting who joined Valli Opticians Hebden Bridge six months ago as the Manager.

also nominated were: Sue Earwaker from Maghull, Julie Howard from Valli Head Office and Andrew Greaves from AH Mertons Opticians in Birchwood.

The Kamal Aftab Award for Clinical Excellence is an award in memory of our dear friend and colleague Kamal who passed away from leukemia in 2015.  It is awarded to a member of staff who consistently delivers excellence in clinical care.

This years winner is John Grayson from AH Mertons in Chorlton.  John has worked as an optometrist at the Chorlton practice for over 25 years and is known locally as Dr Merton.  He will be retiring at the end of the year so this award has been given in recognition of his loyal service.

also nominated were:  Sarah Duckworth Optometrist from Valli Opticians Honley, Nazmeen Ahmed Optometrist from AJ Spurrett Opticians Blackburn and Eleanor Swystun Optometrist from Valli Opticians Lockwood & Almondbury.

Branch of the Year – this award was judge on the following criteria – outstanding customer service, appearance and cleanliness, customer feedback an a team that has got that bit of magic.

This years winner is Valli Opticians Meltham who have had a fantastic year seeing a record number of new patients and building on the great reputation it has in the village of Meltham.

Employee of the Year – This was voted for by the whole team as part of the Valli Conference day and the nominees were selected as they delivered excellence throughout the year, have positive ‘can do’ attitudes and are always striving to improve themselves and those around them.

This years winners were Zoe Hazelden from Valli Head Office & Valli Opticians Huddersfield and Dafydd Evans from the Lab and North West Dispenser.

also nominated were Kath Eckersley – Maghull, Kayleigh Felstead – Valli Head Office, Laura Whiting – Valli Opticians Hebden Bridge, Kayleigh Buttle – Valli Opticians Hull, Karen Hare – AH Mertons Opticians Chorlton and Rianne Chadwick – Barradells Opticians Cheadle Hulme.

The evening rounded off with music and dancing and the whole Valli team enjoying an evening with their colleagues.  We are very proud of our excellent team and would like to thank every one of them for their continuous hard work and dedication to Valli Opticians.
