West Yorkshire Opticians Shortlisted for National Award
Valli Opticians in Honley, West Yorkshire, has been shortlisted for two awards at the prestigious national Optician Awards, in recognition of its services to optics.
Valli Opticians Honley, part of the Valli Group, a past winner of this award in 2013, has been shortlisted for the ‘Independent Practice of the Year’ award and the ‘Enhanced Service’ award.
Set up by Moin Valli and his wife Rachel in 2005, the company started life in Lockwood, Huddersfield and has now grown to include 9 businesses. They own the Valli Opticians practices in Lockwood, Honley, Meltham and Mytholmroyd, alongside SD Haigh Opticians in Almondbury, Mamtora Opticians in Hebden Bridge, Barbara Watson Eyecare in Wakefield and Henry J Rose Optometrist Hull. They also expanded further to include two other optical businesses – Valli Home Eye Care, a domiciliary service for housebound elderly and disabled patients, and Valli Co-Optic, which specialises in providing bespoke eye care services onsite for medium to large companies and have clients that include Cummins Turbo Technologies, Arla Foods and Phillips 66 Humber Oil Refinery
A number of the staff and Mr Valli deliver talks to schools and community groups about the importance of eye health and describes the company as, ‘forward-thinking and passionate about providing our communities with modern, highly-equipped practices, coupled with traditional values of the very best in customer service right on their doorstep.’
Commenting on the award, Mr Valli said: “To be shortlisted for one of these prestigious, national awards is great recognition but to be shortlisted for two is incredible, especially given the high standards of eye care available nationally, and of course this is something we are very proud of.”
The winners of the Optician Awards will be announced on Saturday 18th April at a glittering ceremony at the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham
